Cloud Service Mesh pricing
Cloud Service Mesh is available as part of GKE Enterprise or as a standalone offering on Google Cloud. Google APIs enabled on the project determine how you are billed. To use Cloud Service Mesh as a standalone service, don't enable the GKE Enterprise API on your project. If you want to use Cloud Service Mesh on-premises or on other clouds, you must subscribe to GKE Enterprise.
Pricing for Cloud Service Mesh Standalone customers
Pricing for Cloud Service Mesh as a standalone service is based on the number of Cloud Service Mesh clients, including Cloud Service Mesh enabled pod instances on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Run instances, and Proxyless gRPC instances.
If a deployment has more than one replica running, such as a service that has scaled to 3 instances, each instance is billed at the billable rate. Each client is charged at $0.0006945 per hour, or approximately $0.50 per client per month.
Cloud Service Mesh standalone pricing includes the following:
Telemetry dashboards. Cloud Service Mesh standard metrics are included in the fees above. Custom metrics are charged based on Cloud Monitoring pricing.
Mesh CA, a managed certificate authority service, with no per-certificate charge.
Pricing for GKE Enterprise customers
GKE Enterprise customers are not billed separately for Cloud Service Mesh because it is already included in the GKE Enterprise pricing.
Alternatively, a pay-as-you-go billing option is available for GKE Enterprise on Google Cloud only. For more information, see the GKE Enterprise Pricing guide.
