Security Incidents
Google Security Operations's process for managing security incidents follows a written policy to ensure that security events and weaknesses associated with information systems are properly communicated and timely corrective actions are taken.
As part of the policy, applicable security incidents include virus attacks, hacking attempts, denial of service, unauthorized copying / disclosure of information, tampering, unauthorized modification of information, alteration of the operating system, wiretapping, etc.
Such violations are recorded, monitored, investigated (including collection of evidence), and used in "lessons learned" improvements.
Google SecOps strives to keep customers briefed on each investigation, its results, any correction actions taken, and any corresponding lessons learned / improvements.
