This section describes the basic requirements for setting up an
Anthos GKE cluster
(previously known as GKE On-Prem)
suitable for a production environment.
Creating the cluster
For information about creating Anthos GKE clusters,
see
Creating
admin and user clusters in the Anthos GKE on-prem 1.5 documentation.
Production cluster requirements
Use these requirements as a guide when
creating your production cluster.
You must configure and label two types of nodes in your cluster -- one for the stateful Cassandra
pods and one for the rest of the pods, which are stateless.
Configure these node types as described below:
[[["Easy to understand","easyToUnderstand","thumb-up"],["Solved my problem","solvedMyProblem","thumb-up"],["Other","otherUp","thumb-up"]],[["Hard to understand","hardToUnderstand","thumb-down"],["Incorrect information or sample code","incorrectInformationOrSampleCode","thumb-down"],["Missing the information/samples I need","missingTheInformationSamplesINeed","thumb-down"],["Other","otherDown","thumb-down"]],["Last updated 2025-03-10 UTC."],[[["This documentation covers the setup of an Anthos GKE cluster for production environments, emphasizing resource requirements for larger configurations."],["The required Anthos GKE version is 1.1.1-gke.2 or later, and the kubectl version must be 1.13.x or later."],["Stateful nodes, which are for Cassandra pods, need a minimum of 6 nodes with at least 8 CPUs and 16 GB RAM, labeled with `apigee-data`."],["Stateless nodes, for the rest of the pods, require a minimum of 3 nodes, also with a minimum of 8 CPUs and 16 GB RAM, labeled with `apigee-runtime`."],["The current documentation version (1.1) is end of life and an upgrade to a newer version is required."]]],[]]
